What to Pack in the Emergency Bin

What to have in case we get stuck at home from a natural disaster and we lose power, water, gas, etc. My suggestion is to have the Emergency Bin be a suitcase with roller wheels, thus meaning it could be part of the Go Bag, potentially, if circumstances allow.

What to put in an Emergency Bin? 1 gallon of water per person, per day, plus an additional gallon per day for cooking with; canned foods for 3 meals/day per person; rice; manual can opener; camping stove and butane fuel; camping lamp; matches; and a hand coffee grinder.

Other “extreme” options: a generator, and/or BioStove, solar-powered charger, or hand-crank gadget charger.

And this assumes that you’ll also have access to your Go Bag items, including: lithium batteries, LED Flashlight, AM/FM radio, battery-powered USB charger, mylar sleeping bags, freeze-dried meals, and water purifying straw.
